The company has developed a series of popular software products, from a simple FX Charts platform to the MetaTrader 5 multi-asset trading platform.

MetaQuotes' first product FX Charts was released in the year 2000. This easy-to-use platform allowed performing trading operations and analyzing currency pair quotes in the Forex market. FX Charts was a truly revolutionary and highly functional product available at a reasonable price as opposed to its expensive and low-performance counterparts. The new product quickly gained a favorable market share and was implemented in several brokerage firms.

After the first successful experience, the company continued to further develop its products and released the MetaQuotes platform, which included the new MQL (MetaQuotes Language) programming language. The market was excited over the new product for the possibility of traders to use automated robots in financial trading.

With the third-generation platform released under the MetaTrader brand name, traders received the opportunity to trade futures in addition to FX pairs. A year later, in 2003 the first mobile trading applications MetaTrader CE and MetaTrader for Palm were released. This release greatly increased the number of traders using the new platform, and spurred the market interest in MetaQuotes' software products.
